Hi everyone, your teaching and learning blogger is here. Today I will talk about podcasts. Me and my friend Eylül Karakaş created a podcast. Our podcast is a sound-rich story. Firstly, we wrote the story for our podcast, and we needed to be creative and use words that could be harmonized with some audio. Then, we told the story and added sounds that harmonized with our story. We live in a very crowded city- actually, it is the most crowded city in Turkiye- so, it was not easy to have clear voice recordings. There were always car and people noises at the background. We took around thirty voice recordings. Eventually, we took a golden shot and used it. In the end, we are happy with our podcast. It was difficult for us because neither of us had done such an assignment before. However, we had a lot of fun while creating it. We live in an EFL country, and generally, we do not have the opportunity to hear ourselves speaking English. Students may get bored with the casual homework. They sometimes want to do such homework like podcasting, video recording, and more. Therefore, I would give such an assignment to my students. It is fun and educational at the same time.
