AR: GO OR STAY TO VISIT

 Hello everyone, your learing and teaching blogger İlayda is here again. Today I will talk about AR/VR entegrated English lessons. You probably know that we do not have to go to the museums to see what is inside them anymore. We can basically take a virtual tour. In virtual tours you can see most of the things - sometimes everything- in the museum. Our assignment was to create a lesson for our students using this technology. We were supposed to introduce a city with my friends Eylül and Meryem. We chose London, because London is a city that English is spoken natively. We wanted to introduce the culture of such a city to our students. After we finished with our choosing phase, we searched for facts about London. We come up with eight different fact and we entegrated them to our sheet with some pictures of London. We used Canva to design our activity sheet. We found three different famous places in London and their virtual tours. We gave QR codes of the virtual tours in our worksheet and wanted our students to scan them and visit that places. After they analyze the places they are supposed to answer some questions that are on the worksheet. After those we were supposed to give place to a festival of the city, we chose Chelsea Flower Show, and repeat the process we did with the famous places. For the final activity, we produced an activity which students are supposed to create an Instagram post about London. We gave the picture for the post, and they write the description for the post.You can see our activity sheet here.
