DIGITAL STORY-TELLING: CREATIVE AND FUNCTIONAL

Hello, everyone! Your teaching and learning blogger İlayda is here again after a long time. I was not able to be around because i had exams. Today I am here with another tool for education. In our digital century, we all watch videos, and we can also use videos for our teaching and learning process. Digital stories are one of the options. Digital story-telling was our latest task for this blog. We created a digital story. Me and my friends Eylül Karakaş and Meryem Kasap worked hard to create a good digital story. Since we are not experts at video editing and animating, we had difficulties; BUT EVENTUALLY WE MADE IT!!! First, we decided on our story, and as you can see it in the video, our topic is super-heroes. We thought that it would be really nice if we had super-heroes for current problems. Then we decided on our super-heroes. As you already know I posted a blogpost that includes an infographic about plagiarism, and one of our heroes in our story can detect plagiarism, and the other one warns people who attemt plagiarism. So, we chose our heroes according to current issues. If you are interested, go check the video to see the other heroes after reading this post. We used Pixton to create our characters and backgorund etc. After creating scenes on Pixton, we downloaded the scenes. We recorded our voices according to the scenes and edited using CapCut. After that our scenes and voices became a video. We shared it on YouTube, and you can see it if you like. I think digital story-telling is a creative way of teaching, moreover we can use digital story-telling as an interesting way of teaching and I am sure that our students will be happy with the stories, because it is entertaining.

See our digital story here.

I hope you enjoyed the post. See you next time.
Your learning  and teaching blogger, İlayda.
